New Year’s Eve Eve started and ended with no water in my apartment building. Holidays this year have not been easy. How very 2025-ish of 2025.

Will there be water tomorrow to close out the year?

Stay tuned.

Christmas Day this year started with my 13 year old pup getting attacked, unprovoked, and bitten (she’s okay after an ER vet visit). Apt building neighbors dog. Had to call animal control this morning and I feel (mostly) awful about that.

I know Donald isn’t a Christian, but when all those who are start arguing in support of this statement, this event, perpetrated on their lords birthday, remember that they really are who they say they are. THIS IS CHRISTIAN. How many times do you need them to prove it to you? Stop thinking otherwise

“60 Minutes” correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi says she requested comment from DHS, State and the WH. They declined, then complained and Bari Weiss spiked the story. Alfonsi says it gave the Trump administration a “kill switch”.

“What it sees as” 🙄

“Concerns among security experts” 🙄

“”Could come under surveillance“ 🙄

What milquetoast bullshit.
The Trump administration is trying to root out what it sees as rampant left-wing domestic terrorism, raising concerns among security experts and lawmakers that broad categories of Americans’ speech could come under surveillance.

They don't deserve your praise.
It's been a little surreal reading posts from around the country praising the Minneapolis Police Department for standing up to ICE and saying more police departments should be like the MPD.

It’s like if you gave the nutjob in your town who writes crazy notes about things on random pieces of paper and rants at the bar about things unlimited time and money to build a museum to himself.
Per @garretthaake.bsky.social, the extremely tacky "presidential wall of fame" that lines the colonnade to the West Wing now has obviously-Trump-penned plaques insulting or praising the presidents.

NEW: President Donald Trump says he is granting a pardon to Tina Peters, who was convicted on state charges related to tampering with Colorado's election systems. Legal experts say presidential pardons do not apply to state charges.

They always get sooooo close to a concept of a plan, but never arrive. They are the Zeno of accomplishment.
Rand Paul on his healthcare plan: "What if you could join Costco? Costco has 44m members and if one person negotiated for all 44 and they bought a group plan like Toyota or General Motors does, they would be the largest collective entity in the country. They would drive prices down by sheer might."

It’s been pointed out that William Gibson would have rejected this idea as too outlandish.

I have to say I can’t think of a more depressing and disgusting gateway to the dystopian nightmare I never imagined I’d actually see than this.

I made it pretty far in life believing in humanity.
