If I wanted to become a right wing grifter, I could make a lot of money off of shit like this like it’s 2015.
Ugh. The main anti-ICE group in Washington which has 44k followers on Facebook and has been going around to communities promoting classes is now promoting this anti-whistle nonsense for "harm reduction" reasons as well.

It's all kinds of disturbing how often I keep coming across people who have turned, "Jeffrey Epstein ran an elite pedophile ring," into, "Israel ran an elite pedophile ring." They're doing Protocols of the Elders of Zion antisemitism to deflect blame from whole lot of powerful people, but leftishly.

“You know, Jeffrey, me getting shit for denying the Cambodian genocide for decades is a lot like running a pedophile island.”

What if you heard about a German citizen in 1939, who kicked a car driven by Gestapo agents and was murdered by them several weeks later? Would you consider him a criminal or a hero?
News Movement posted this video of Alex Pretti on Jan 13, showing him spitting at ICE agents and kicking their taillight.

Now conservatives are suggesting this changes things.

That would mean they are suggesting he deserved to be target of an extrajudicial execution.

The video changes nothing.

I’m very well-versed in far-right thought and literature. I can’t say the same for leftists. Where does one begin?

Timely announcement as ICE has announced they are surging Springfield, Ohio.

I can't help but think that the attack on Ilhan Omar is an extension of redbaiting and the age-old strategy of using the fear of leftists as a way to scapegoat minorities. More recently, redbaiting has been used as a way to shift the focus from Jews to Muslims, creating a new flavor of Islamophobia.

I’ve listened to enough episodes of Stew Peters to make me want to throw myself into a woodchipper.
I have to listen to far-right podcasts all the time for work and I do not agree that the solution to any of our problems is for more people to listen to far-right podcasts
these people seem like idiots

I just want to point out that Bovino's response to Bill gives away the underlying worldview: Sympathizing with (black and brown) immigrants over (white) American citizens makes you a (race) traitor, which makes you a part of the "problem" (and thereby deserving of same treatment as the immigrants)
Honored that in his last days of fame and fortune at CBP the disgraced Gregory Bovino chose to attack, among others, me.

The Pod Save Bros were waxing poetic about sending CBP "back to the border." What they neglected to do was actually finish that statement with "so they can commit the same crimes with less media attention on them."

all they have are their sad little AI photos. other people smarter than me have said this but seeing people do autonomous action and form mutual aid networks breaks the conservative brain. conservatives don't understand solidarity. they understand transactional relationships and wielding power.

One thing about political extremism (where the in-group is Republicans/conservatives and out-group is Democrats/progressives) is that these identity classes are fluid and permeable. Past these labels, you still have to deal with White supremacy, but there's definitely room to peel off defectors.
Attorney Chris Madel drops out of Republican primary for governor of Minnesota by saying he can't back the national GOP's "stated retribution on the citizens of our state, nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so."
Chris Madel ends GOP bid for governor, says he can’t support federal ‘retribution’ against Minnesota
His exit comes as some other Republicans have started to distance themselves from the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in the state.

My latest, for the MIT Press Reader: Why is an anti-immigrant extremist force cracking down on non-immigrants? Because when extremists can't win over their in-group, they must assign dissenting members to an out-group in order to maintain legitimacy.

The federal agent who disarmed Pretti ND’d the firearm. If they can’t even be trusted to safely handle a pistol, what makes anyone think that body cams, QR codes, and “better training” are going to stop them from killing civilians in the streets like dogs?

January 24, 2026 at 5:17 PM
No amount of training, reform, body cams, QR codes, or funding changes can fix this. Abolition is the only solution.
