arguments against rebellion tend towards: "well if you go after the rich with guillotines, you better be prepared to have the same happen to you later".

a) "eating the rich" does not mean taking their place,
b) losing your head is a pretty effective deterrent for shitbag behaviour.

i guess i could just stay on the OS that maintains full rosetta support, but that's not really a future-proofing plan? I'd like to keep my current hardware running until 2030, at least.

i run a m2 air when i'm out and about, it's an amazing machine. however, apple is sunsetting rosetta 2 later on, and that's gonna affect interoperability. VST support is as good as it'll ever get right now on MacOS, but when rosetta 2 gets phased out, a lot of things are gonna break.

I would have switched over if it wasn't for the fact that they're sunsetting Rosetta 2. Apple is betting on the fact that developers will somehow magically want to develop for Apple Silicon natively.

We both know that's tech debt most audio software engineers won't want to fuck around with.

history is repeating itself. the 1920s had alcohol prohibition. the 2020s have what effectively amounts to digital prohibition.

By criminalizing consumption, all they're doing is creating dangerous black markets where people are actually more likely to get hurt.
