Spotted this little tableau in a tree box on Queen, near Bellwoods. Just in case anyone wondered if Canadians were getting any less pissed off with the US

These massive blunt-nosed bastard trucks need to be taxed out of existence. They're a consistent threat to the safety of pedestrians and cyclists (especially children).

Gemini not so trustworthy. I had a strong memory of seeing Margaret Atwood read at Open Space in Victoria. Did I imagine this? AI responded no, but right below is Open Space website link confirming she has appeared.

The Songhees and Xwsepsum First Nations today announced a desire to work with local partners to revive the E&N line from Langford to Victoria.

There is much work to do on this file, and much we don't know, but the main takeaway is the leadership shown by the Nations today.

Exciting times!

Never forget, if you design a city for cars, it fails for everyone, including drivers.

If you design a multi-modal city that makes walking, biking & public transit attractive options, it works better for everyone, including drivers.

INCLUDING DRIVERS.

The “war on cars” has always been a lie.

This iconic Fabian Todorovic cartoon is still one of the best I’ve seen at illustrating the remarkable amount of space we surrender to cars, leaving little space left for everyone and everything else. The text added later makes the bonus point that many drivers still manage to complain about it.

The Chamber of Commerce in Victoria is coming out against bike lanes. Maybe a good idea to write in and express this same sentiment.
I haven't been to a single business in the Strip ever since their business association sued the city over protected bike lanes 😇

i've gotten quite adept at cooking cucina povera from Aldi. Cheap, basic stuff can easily be tasty.
