What are the potential policy implications?

First, design matters. If the YIMBY movement wants to build broad coalitions, it cannot ignore aesthetics. Policies that ensure better design or "fitting in" (like form-based codes) might reduce political friction.

Thanksgiving costs climbed about 10% this year over last year, according to new research from @groundwork.bsky.social @tcfdotorg.bsky.social & @aft.org.

That’s an increase of more than 3X the overall inflation rate. Explore the research👇

Jupiter Ascending II. Do it you cowards!
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

This is despicable and dishonorable behavior and everyone involved at the DoD including Hegseth should resign in shame.

Yesterday we raised over $35,000. Today, we are excited to announce a donor who has generously offered to match the second $35,000. If you help us reach $35,000 today he will match you dollar for dollar. Please help us get there! gofund.me/638697766

We are governed by idiots. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so dangerous.

Only two possibilities. Trump and Hegseth chicken out, like usual—or they lose, really badly.

But man if I’m China I am loving the systematic undermining of US military superiority happening under Trump and Hegseth.

can’t really overemphasize how much the constituency for this does not exist
Trump had found an issue more unpopular than his handling of inflation - attacking Venezuela:

It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

It is absolutely incredible that the President of the United States would choose or be allowed to present an unvetted demand list from a foreign adversary as his own endorsed "peace plan". The absolute most pathetic, ludicrous foreign policy blunder in American history.
The entire West comes together to reject the Dmiriev 28-point plan to which Trump affixed his name. This would appear to mark the absolute modern low point of US diplomatic influence on he world stage.

The absolute incompetence Trump and Rubio are showing laundering a Russian plan for Ukraine to surrender as if it was a US peace plan would be pathetic if it wasn’t so dangerous.

Like just think about this for a second, why tf would Europe co-author a deal that gives Russia the absolute power and final say to decide whether or not they can admit any other nation to NATO? Why would the Senate accept that the will of Moscow binds it, now and forever, more than that of the US?

Russia rejected their own peace plan?
Russia flat out rejects Trump's 28-point peace plan: "Even in a reduced military and territorial form, Ukraine would remain a significant danger, requiring us to keep our forces on the western borders."
