"There’s no limit, Alt text should be as long or short as it needs to be, just succinct and correct. Just not super long." Happy that this gets debunked by Chris Yoong because I've seen it again in yet another "white paper" (maybe written by AI, who knows?)

Does AI help or hinder accessibility in communications? That's the question @matissenelis.com and I answer in this piece in Business Reporter 👇 www.business-reporter.co.uk/management/d...
Does AI help or hinder accessible communications?
Accessibility isn't about compliance or checking boxes. It's about recognising that the most effective communication is communication that works for everyone

Have you ever felt intentionally or accidentally excluded from a conversation? If you work with people who are new to your team or industry or you’re a recent hire yourself, misunderstandings are common, and it can be easy to feel left out. Check out this piece @matissenelis.com and I wrote:

It's bin day tomorrow and the council web page that tells us what bin it is is cloudfared to fuck and I am the only person on the street who has it screengrabbed and this is the closest I'll ever get to being a Robert Harris hero with the secret knowledge that could save us all

I love how slow Wikipedia moves during controversy. For YEARS after the "GamerGate" harassment campaign, editors refused to give up the URL of the *original* meaning of the word: A gamergate is a kind of ant.

Without a consensus to the contrary, the ants keep it.

Waiting for a bus, heard a parakeet yelling, watched how it was flying behind [maybe chasing] an entire flock of pigeons.

While at my desk earlier I saw some leaves flying vertically up past my window earlier.

Fell up the stairs at the station.

i've been saying it for years: it is a moral imperative to post your lunch
Fewer people are talking, and those who are are more politically extreme. And it they're not saliva extreme, they're an advertisement for something you don't need. That the biggest change in online spaces in the last few years. We've got to bring back mundane normie posting
In short, the ANES data shows:
📉 Social media use is shrinking
💥 Twitter/X posting has moved ~50 points to the right
🧩 Platforms are splintering
🔊 Fewer people are talking — but those still talking are more politically extreme
