My eye twitches every time I think about people saying they voted for Trump because of the price of eggs.

I really think that we need to talk more about the fact that Republicans have basically quietly abolished the House of Representatives

My brain nowadays is basically like Little Edie stalking the rotted opulence of Grey Gardens, hands on hips, muttering busily about having been a great beauty once before being distracted by raccoon noise or another bit of ceiling falling in

All the way back to Elizabethan England; many times great grandfather born in Hillmorton, Warwickshire, England in 1565 (a year younger than Shakespeare). We can trace her maternal side back to the 1680s in Delaware. Puritans and ship captains. Definitely a few skeletons in those colonial closets.
My mom is visiting for a few weeks. My dad’s inurnment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies is this Friday. She’s been working on our genealogy. I’m apparently related to Mary Perkins Bradbury, accused of witchcraft in Massachusetts in 1692.
Oh, God. This makes my stomach sink half a world away. I’m so sorry.

She was brilliant.
Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 that she understood would only be released after her death.
I hope the reunion goes well and she’s safe.
