Two-thirds of California's power comes from clean energy.

For 9 in 10 days so far this year, we were 100% powered for some part of the day by clean energy.

The Golden State has become the world's fourth-largest economy because of our climate leadership, not in spite of it.

I have stopped reading the news. I still read the headlines, but it seems all the news is bad, and what is good is vapid or falsely optimistic. I just want to go camping for the next three years.

IMAGINE.
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

PLEASE add pet food and cat litter to your food bank donation list, friends!
WE are now seeing a rash of pets being surrendered because their owners can no longer afford them :(

This tends to be the fodder for jokes, but we (read: Congressional Republicans) really need to start taking it seriously.

40 respected psychiatrists & psychologists believe Trump is such a danger to America that the rule they should not speak does not apply. Trump is “a psychopath” with obvious “early Alzheimers” that should be “full scale dementia in four years” at the rate going now

Surprised?
Trump didn’t flinch when asked if ICE raids had gone too far.
“No,” he said. “They haven’t gone far enough.”

2025, dawn raids, screaming children, and silent courts have become background noise -cruelty normalized, bureaucracy weaponized.

In 2021, the United States and Israel were the only two countries to vote against food being identified as a human right at the UNGA. Judging by what’s happening in Gaza and what’s happening here with SNAP, it all makes sense.

I guess Speaker Johnson thinks he should be able to get paid for doing nothing. Most people who get SNAP, on the other hand, have at least one job. Who’s the lazy one?

The USDA is the fail safe for SNAP.

They have a contingency fund to ensure it’s covered in the event of a shutdown.

They’re refusing.

Grocery stores stepped up to try and help by offering discounts to any SNAP recipients and the USDA told them they had to stop.

Starvation as a policy choice.

Pro tip: That is NOT feminism.
We have a whole generation of women who have taught each other that feminism means the “choice” to choose to adapt to the male gaze and singing about your boyfriend’s dick or crawling around on the floor with a man leading you by your hair is “female empowerment.” And they believe it & it’s so sad.

Our society looks at the child who shared a spoon and reacts 1 of 2 ways: If they become a ruthless CEO, we lionize the hardship that created them. If a drug lord, we jail them and shrug, “What do you expect, raised in that environment?” But we never address the cultural toxicity that causes both.
i grew up poor, but not have nothing poor. and i had a life changing moment when i was shopping with a woman one day and her kid looked at her and said “momma we won’t have to share a spoon anymore”

just because you’ve always had something doesn’t mean everyone does.
