Here's why donating/supporting rural states with your PBS/NPR membership is important:

Idaho is a low population state. It's also a mountainous state. So unlike some concentrated urban areas that have one large transmitter that can serve millions, we have to spend a lot on infrastructure. A few dozen signals of ours are mostly in rural areas. (Paraphrased from the transcript)

Premium increases notices will soon arrive in the mailboxes of Americans all over the US.

The average increase? 114%.

For some, the numbers are even higher:

A couple making $129,000 with two adult children at home in Savannah, GA, will pay $3,150 more per month for insurance.

This is good, from Hakeem Jeffries. More of this please, in every conceivable forum:

"Sycophants who aid and abet the President’s vengeful schemes will not be able to hide from the serious legal consequences of their behavior. They will be held accountable."

In a democracy based on freedom and the rule of law, we don’t jail public officials—or anyone—because of policy disagreements. We need everyone to repudiate this nonsense because a president cannot act as a prosecutor, judge, jury and dictator.

Why is a class action lawsuit against Amazon alleging Prime Day is a scam getting zero coverage by mainstream media?

Could it be because media outlets get a cut when a customer purchases a Prime Day product when clicking through their featured deals?

UPDATE: Lawsuit alleges Prime Day is a fraud
The federal class action lawsuit has been ignored by major media outlets, which continue to promote Prime Day deals.

@joycewhitevance.bsky.social and @lawfaremedia.org have covered this pretty comprehensively re: Trump's threats to indict her. The facts and evidence don't support any indictment.

Jess, do you think that there is now an incentive to replace large scale corporate farming with better climate protective methods? Different crops? Decreased livestock? Reduction in factory farms? Is this created crisis also an opportunity for revolutionized farming practices?

Shapiro: I filed that amicus brief last night to make it very clear that the Pennsylvania National Guard is under my command.

The way the President has chosen to deploy the Guard in other states—and, in at least one case, deploy the Guard from one state into another—is extremely dangerous.

As a pedestrian dealing with visual impairments and mobility issues, the photos accurately show that bikes and people obstruct the SHARED path routinely.

Where's the neighborliness? Bike buses are good, but trampling over other people's access is not. /rant

Park & path rules need to be enforced.
lobsternanny.bsky.social
I hope that the adults who participate in this bike bus are complaining about the needles, human waste, raided textile bins with items dumped out all around them, the overflowing rubbish and recycling bins - all the things that we neighbors who have to walk through that area - contend with.

A federal judge just asked the government if they're the cause of the violence in Chicago - whether this is of their own making.

Perry asks directly whether the feds started the alleged violence in Chicago.

She asks whether it matters if the inability to execute the law was "caused by the federal agents."

Hamilton: "No, your honor."
