Speaking of which, here’s some art of mine from a year or two ago, it’s perhaps Furby-and-Goblin-adjacent #art #goblin #Potoo #Tarsier #Furby #weirdlittleguy #asymmetry #blacklight
Glad to see people continuing to find out out the same kind of thing that I did back in 2020 when my art done entirely in highlighters due to limited access to materials at the time glowed under the light of the UV bug-zapper in our living room. 😁

in the advent of AI slop stripping away the humanity of the arts, we need to recognize the talents of those who work on movies, games, cartoons, etc. The storyboard artists, the programmers, the musicians, etc. It's one reason why I talk a lot about industry animators and their work.

A species of spiders that exhibit colony behaviors has been found in a cave, and I find this incredibly cool.

The wings of some butterflies serve as a defence mechanism by mimicking threats, like the eyes of a predator, or the look on a predator's face when it's about to tell a long, boring story about predation that isn't even that interesting to other predators.

COUNT I

Kat Abughazaleh did, while law enforcement was in heated pursuit, paint what appeared to be the entrance to a cave on a sheer rock wall, causing law enforcement to forcibly bonk into said wall.

COUNT II

The same thing on a different wall, but then a train came out and ran us over???

Y’know, if you really want to just enjoy doing art for its own sake, I really would recommend getting a blacklight flashlight, a set of highlighter markers, one of those multi-tip ballpoint pens with several colors, and a box of 96 Crayola crayons. #art #doodles #blacklight

So I just had an amusing little mental lightbulb moment. Ea Nasir kinda worked retail, which makes a funny kind of sense given the modern retail worker experience. 1/2

This is Denni. She took an unexpected babysitting shift when she found a baby koala in her yard. She cheerfully delivered the joey to her human, who put them back in the tree to be reunited with their mom. 14/10 (FB: Steve Lamplough)

This is tech/marketing people leveraging decades of science fiction media presenting "AI" as generally encyclopedic and infallible. People think they're getting JARVIS, when what they're getting is the machine version of that annoying dude in your dorm confidently spouting bullshit on every subject
This marketing term is causing untold harm, of course, mostly to the naive and gullible. But it’s surprising how many educated and apparently intelligent people are placing an unwarranted degree of trust in these programmes.

It’s a lot harder to get the cyan off the back of my left hand than I expected.

The base coat is surplus spray paint that was brought to me in the Adirondacks about a year ago from the Brooklyn studio that burned a couple of weeks ago.

The painting is about what we are losing.

Visited someone with an amazing home garden yesterday for a tour and spent so much time petting a very friendly dog and taking in everything we were being shown that all I remembered to get photos of was the frogs around the pond and a couple pics of a ladybug. #frogs #homegarden
