Even if ICE gets away with their target, confronting them everywhere is important because it ties up more of their people and resources for more time.

If ICE could send lone goons out to snatch people, they would, and they’d snatch more people. Grind them down everywhere. It costs them real money.

They clearly believed that Minneapolis would riot after they killed one of us. We didn’t, we organized. We followed them, we monitored them. We alerted our neighbors. We fought them in the courts. And now they’re desperate, so they’re brutalizing us, without a hint of legitimate government purpose.

What’s the longest prison sentence that someone can get for assault? This guy needs that plus a few years.

This is a money for cross-border solidarity and clear-eyed recognition that many, many other western democracies are one bad election away from a Trump of their own.

Global fascism must be discredited and defeated for another century, it seems.
to all citizens of the EU and other free nations: sorry about Trump, he is the distilled version of everything bad about America, those of us with eyes to see are working to defeat him and to help you to fend him off. the moment calls for cross border solidarity against tyranny

Adolf Hitler Rules Out Senseless Adventures

Nuremberg, Germany, Sept. 13 [1937]— Fuehrer Adolf Hitler and his Nazis, their voices strained from a week of speeches and cheers, left for their every-day tasks today after an unusual talk by the dictator on foreign affairs and German's desire for peace.

This is not the government of Greenland and also this is wrong.

We *don’t* hold the citizens of authoritarian governments collectively responsible for what their governments do. That’d be monstrous. It’s often said (and always correct to say) that Hitler’s first victims were German.

You know. Like a Ponzi scheme.

his is another reason why Democrats can’t just campaign on affordability issues while ignoring that Republicans are consolidating an authoritarian takeover.

The next election needs to be a choice between auto-coup and counter-coup. Democrats need a mandate to save the country once elected.
We are, of course, stuck with presidentialism in my or your lifetime. But when democrats take power back from the fascists, the platform needs to be institutional reform. There are lots of things to be done, with normal legislation, to fix our broken system. They better be ready to go. Immediately.
🇺🇸 trifectas get shot at doing something

Obama chose policy (ACA). It didn’t fix the authoritarian problem

Biden chose policy (ARP/IRA). It didn’t fix the authoritarian problem

The platform must be institutional reform next time. Right from the start, as @dhnexon.bsky.social said

It’s important to allow normal people to do this. Trials for decision makers and regime apparatchiks, amnesiatic grace for your distant aunt with the moral processing power of a dairy cow.

Forget, but don’t forgive. To do otherwise makes people dig in forever.
New polling data shows that it's getting increasingly embarrassing to identify as a Republican, and some Trump voters are slinking away and pretending it never happened.

This is literally Republicans’ entire argument for the 2nd Amendment.

But while I admire the irony and the bravery, I hate the path we’re on and know that no one is going to enjoy where it leads.

I believe that the revealed strategy here is for Democrats to avoid saying or doing that could possibly offend anyone and then win the midterms by default.

Unfortunately, a leadership that campaigns on nothing will keep doing nothing until Republicans inevitably win again, and kill us all.
I can't recall a time in my life when the Senate's Democratic leader was so embarrassing and pathetic.
January 20, 2026 at 12:05 AM
The only reason people in power have ever needed to not call Trump a fascist is that doing so reveals an obvious corollary moral obligation to stop him, which in turn requires bravery that they do not have.
You want to know why Chuck Schumer is talking about affordability & not Trump being a fascist? It's because we already tried talking about him being a fascist *& everyone ignored us*.
A big part of why we are at where we are is that much of the world, the press, foreign leaders, a big hunk of US voters, simply refused to believe it when Democrats said Trump would be as bad as he is.
January 19, 2026 at 11:40 PM
Important to remember that the US gains next to nothing by taking over Greenland that it does not already have.

This is all about Trump’s ego shouting through the cracks in his fractured psyche

Can you feel your anxiety melting away?

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”
