Writing is hard, but when I don’t write at least a little every day, I miss it. Creativity is addicting. Tilling new soil (or improving the old) can be habit-forming in all the best ways. #booksky

"Closer to the publishing finish line!" I laugh to myself, as I have only completed the outline.

this might be one of my hottest hot takes about writing but i think it is possible to be bad at reading and i think the idea that readers' opinions are always true and correct is lowkey ruining a lot of fiction

Would you still love me if I was just a feverish whisper in the dark? If you opened your door, and from the tree-line you could hear frantic syllables just this side of decipherable? Would you love me if I was the intonation of spells not uttered for centuries?

At the end of the day, don’t we all just want to read books in front of a crackling fire in a Scottish Highlands cottage during a raging snowstorm whilst enjoying a plate of chocolate croissants?

Books fell into my cart again today, not sure how that happened? Such a weird phenomenon 🤷‍♀️

Not funny or charming but intensely observant, laser-like. If cutting to the quick was a girl. Loved by all who want to be laid bare or known. Disliked by those who truly fear perception, who live by half-truths.

I normally have a word that comes to me before a new year — an intention I set for myself might be a better way to phrase it. After a particularly difficult holiday, there it was: community, soon followed by curiosity and creativity. A demand more than intention, to get out of my comfort zone.

You know, Jane Austen clearly found most people really annoying, which is why her books all ended with her annoyedly telling us “look some of these people got married, some died, some were miserable, some were happy, but most importantly THE END.”

Communities need used-book shops.

As the trends in our world are increasingly standardized and entrenched by "predictive" technologies that stifle innovation and reduce human actions into economic categories...

We need a full range of possibilities for readers and communities to explore and share.

My unhealthy coping mechanism is clinging to books and reading a ton.

Anyway I have read 6 books (several of which are over to 500 pages long) in the last month.
