My legs gave out on me again tonight. It takes everything I have just to be able to piss. But because I’m not wheelchair bound literally 24/7, I can’t get any disability benefits beyond a little tag that says I can park in disabled spaces. If SNAP goes away, I die. Please help, even $1. $corvusgod

It is incredibly wise of you to append 'yet' to that sentence. A lot of people think they will never be homeless, but you are more likely to become homeless than you are to become a billionaire, by some 98% at the very least, and the economic collapse we face shows little sign of abating.

realize just how pervasive this idea of "Homeless = violent criminal menace who must be punished" is. Homelessness is more than just not having a roof over your head or a warm bed at night. It takes your normalcy and comfort, your sense of self and so much more. Homeless people deserve better.

I think part of the reason why so many are so awful to the homeless and the disabled is a defense mechanism. "I am fundamentally different to THEM, therefore it could never happen to me."

It can, and it will. You better be making a better world for the marginalized while you yet aren't.

how i show up to therapy knowing if im too sad or too suicidal i will get thrown into the torture chamber not-jail-but-jail-basically against my will and ergo i cant be honest with my therapist fully without being punished and i am in a never ending cycle of my mental health not improving

I joined Bluesky because I thought it was going to be a safe place for me as a trans woman. There was so much promise of it being a permanent social media home.

We all deserve a straightforward answer from management if they'll protect their users from harm, or if they'll protect abusers instead.
