I've been working for a long time now on Shatterkin, a FitD game of kids with evolving monster pets (kind of a Digimon meets Stranger Things).

This belief that "you need something to kill" in rpgs is just so bizarre to me, but it's everywhere.
I even got this when developing my medical drama game: "How are you supposed to run combat in this?"
Combat... in a game about the messy lives of medical professionals.
Not fights... COMBAT. WHY?!

getting real tired of stories where the heroes refuse to kill the villains, wishing them to face rehabilitative justice instead, but because the audience is filled with punitive bloodlust they kill the villains off through coincidence
can we for once see what that justice would have looked like!?

Digimon Beatbreak getting an English Dub announcement so soon right before the end of the first cour wasn't something I expected. There's already a Korean Dub, but Ghost Game and Adventure 2020 also had much before their English Dubs, so I thought it could take longer.
