The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

Trump wants to destroy the BBC and take our money. And Nigel Farage is egging him on.

All true patriots should tell them both: hands off our BBC.

inspired by this, I have done a free extract of this section of the book here. it is about understanding that *with all its problems* the BBC is as important for our intellectual health as the NHS is for our physical health:

This is so tragic and horrible. Increasingly I think all ethical educational institutions need to just ban GenAI.
1.This is not the only known example we know of ChatGPT cheering on a vulnerable young person to die by suicide, this time it is a recent Texas A&M grad
2. Every single university that has invited OpenAI into our midst should be asked to account for their choices.

This investigation from the @sheffieldtribune.bsky.social is absolutely staggering. It is very common in Sheffield (I live in this bit) to have a leasehold, often with hundreds of years left on and pennies in ground rent. This is extortion pure and simple. www.sheffieldtribune.co.uk/a-london-law...

Misunderstandings of intersectionality as about identity (👎🏽) versus structure (👍🏽) are so frustrating. Even when people cite Crenshaw, they miss her theoretical sophistication because of their own preoccupation with identity.

Here is the professor in her own words.

I stole this observation from @dylandifford.bsky.social, but it is I think incredibly revealing that modal “Labour 2024, someone else 2025” voter is a woman, *other* than the one type of voter that the mostly male people at the heart of the government are obsessed with.
It's just so bizarre that British politics continues to cling desperately to an image of a voter that, at best, disappeared before the vast majority of current practitioners hit adulthood.
It's absolutely correct - so much of it is just basically 'New Labour - too effeminate, too pro-globalisation, too middle class', and I hate to inform you lads, but actually, the British electorate is in fact majority middle class and majority female, and this is even more true of your coalition.
