I went to bookmark this one and realised I already had done it. Did I see you mention it before? In any case, looks like I'm adding another book to my December list. Which is getting long enough that I'll have to start tackling it in November...

It's October, aka American Archives Month, and while it's been a bit warm to don our cardigans, the shrines to Henry from RED are up and it's time to remind romance authors (and authors of all stripes!) about what kinds of things they ought to be preserving. romancehistory.com/2021/10/15/a...
Archives Month: Tips for romance authors (and others!)

Ooh, a new-to-me author. Thanks for the tip - will hunt for an excerpt 😊 🎄

Not a cover I would have expected to associate with this author! Does it fit the tone of the story? (Hard to imagine, but I haven't read one of her stories in a while.)

"It's all a matter of paying attention, being awake in the present moment, and not expecting a huge payoff. The magic in this world seems to work in whispers and small kindnesses." - Charles de Lint

Even to a complete stranger like me it seems impossible that someone with Fergus's presence can be gone, so I cannot imagine the grief that must be visiting your home. I hope kindness and support will find you all wherever you turn.

For rent: cozy, two-story house near the river. Must like moss, ferns, and living life at an angle.

In the beautiful Tuscan rolling hills, this group of cypress trees grow together in a ring. It almost looks symbolic, particularly as captured here at sunrise in the mist.

The most famous "ring of trees" in Tuscany is the Cipressi di San Quirico d'Orcia (Cypresses of San Quirico d'Orcia), a distinctive circle of cypress trees located in the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its scenic Renaissance agricultural landscapes.

Here it is captured from a drone, at sunrise, with mist sitting above. A truly amazing sight.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 18167:
There is no "typical reader," just as there is no "typical writer." Your first responsibility is to yourself; to create the most honest, well-written, carefully-researched story you can. Finding readers comes later.
