"I hope Starmer wakes up tomorrow morning and feels ashamed about what he has done," says man who unveiled this poster the day Jo Cox was assassinated by a far-right terrorist.

Without inherited wealth or the family name, these fellas would be stood at the side of the road shouting nonsense at passing traffic.

I think so. 👏👏👏

Thank you for this.
The Farage factor has made this country much more ugly and much less safe for many.
Without him I do not believe that Yaxley-Lennon would have the profile that he does.

Guto Harri, previously Boris Johnson's comms director, and given a CBE in his resignation honours, here being given the status of an entirely neutral and benign "political commentator" as he speculates on Keir Starmer's future.

If the _only_ thing we got from the EU and all the membership fees paid were the longest period of peace most European countries have been fortunate to enjoy, the money would’ve been extremely well spent.

EU is a peace project first and foremost - but so much more too. Our last, best hope even?
A poster showing a woman in long dress standing on top of a hill against a background of forested and watery landscape and a sun rising above the clouds. The woman holds a flagstaff where a large EU flag is flying, framed against the sun. The text below reads “Defend Europe - Defend Democracy.”

It takes a massive brass neck to have your administration attack another president for being disrespectfully dressed in a meeting and then turn up to the pope's funeral in a blue suit.

Journalists quite often get emails written in exactly this style, often sent to scores of recipients on multiple publications, and the sadly reliable assumption is that the irate sender is miserable, paranoid and probably unwell.

So according to Kemi Badenoch "putting our national interest first" involves cheering on a foreign government arbitrarily detaining and deporting our own country's elected MPs

Wow who could’ve guessed that this would happen

It’s almost as if USAID was a pillar of American soft power and influence in the world

It’s almost as if it was entirely predictable that America’s adversaries would work to fill the void left by USAID’s destruction
Haley Britzky @halbritz

AFRICOM commander Gen. Langley tells senators that China is "trying to replicate" USAID programs in Africa as the US scales back USAID.

"They're trying to use that as an extension of the Belt and Road Initiative to gain favor by the African countries," Langley said.

My last visit to The Yard Theatre in Hackney Wick before it closes to be rebuilt.
Jay Miller’s The Glass Menagerie has had terrific reviews and the run has been extended to May 10th. Some tickets still available but it’s selling out.

But it appears JD Vance has.

Imagine negotiating with Putin and then coming out and telling everyone what bastards the Canadians are. Imagine having a brain so broken that this sequence of events is even thinkable.

Baby boomers, like me, didn't have material trinkets but we had hope, a free education, secure employment and affordable housing.
Generation Z have none of these, little wonder they suffer from anxiety and depression.
