This is a Bill Simmons game, but you’re stranded on a desert island. You can only have one actor’s filmography. You get it all, including cameos. But just the one performer.

I’m taking Cate Blanchett: Talented Mr. Ripley, LOTR, Life Aquatic, Black Bag, Tár, Ponyo, Hot Fuzz, Eyes Wide Shut, Thor

Remembering that time Biden left Afghanistan and every major news outlet presented that as a despicable act.

Point being, the press has agency regarding the things it sees as an outrage.
Hegseth - and the people carrying out his orders - need to be tried in The Hague for this

This here is a significant reason why Democrats get lapped by the GOP in public discourse. Don’t complain, get aggressive! Use your perch to publicly criticize them by name. IOW, Trump really isn’t your target, your targets are the news outlets/reporters who allow the lies.
Over and over, the mainstream press reports that Trump has secured a “trade deal” with a foreign country and every single time he’s just making it up.

When will they learn?

This little time capsule from @npr.org will make your blood boil. With maybe one exception, Harris’s predictions were SPOT ON yet we were all told at the time that she was being dishonest.
12 misleading or lacking-in-context claims from Harris’ DNC speech
They range from characterizations of former President Trump’s stances on abortion rights and Social Security to her plans to address housing and grocery prices.

The NYT apologists all got the call to DEFEND THE PAPER this week and they want all of us to be okay with this kind of bullshit whilst also totally fucking up the Epstein story:

Banning Patton for this is absolutely ridiculous @safety.bsky.app. He’s expressing a normal reaction to someone justifying child abuse
I’ve been on Bluesky since almost the beginning and I’ve really loved this platform.

But with the bans of @sarahkendzior.bsky.social and Patton Oswalt, I’m wondering how much longer I’ll be here.

Hey @safety.bsky.app @support.bsky.team @pfrazee.com, get it together.
Narrator: they did.

Why is @npr.org staffed by newborn babies?

Past behavior is a really efficient predictor of future behavior and we have YEARS of Trump behavior in the dataset. We functionally know how this is going to work, we don’t have to both sides this.

We are over a decade into Trump as a major political figure with clear evidence that he is a world historical liar. Yet, even with this knowledge, the @nytimes.com still treats him like this.

Shea Whigham is so great that I got legit mad at the movie F1 for listing him in the opening credits but only giving him one minute of screen time.

If you’re promising Shea Whigham you better goddamn deliver on that promise.
Shea Whigham as Roscoe Conkling is such insanely good casting that you have to be at my intersection of Character Actor Sicko and History Sicko to fully appreciate but fortunately that's like hundreds of thousands of people on here

Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

@kaine.senate.gov is not a serious person and should not hold elected office.
Kaine on why he thinks just getting a vote on healthcare is a win: "We're the minority party, but everybody will get to see who is standing for them when it comes to lowering their healthcare costs"

@shaheen.senate.gov is not a serious person and shouldn’t hold any political office.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

Umm…you can’t tell people that you will keep fighting right after you’ve surrendered.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

@hassan.senate.gov is not a serious person and shouldn’t be anywhere near a position of power.

At a basic level, our society did not evolve to account for an entire layer of elite society just lying, continuously and without consequence, and making lying into a core skill set. It really is that dire — civilizations collapse because of alienated, delusional elites.
Damn, I hate it when things that happen mean nothing :-(

So disappointed to see my senator (@captmarkkelly.bsky.social) acting like an absolute chickenshit here.
SCOOP: Schumer was more involved than reported with the attempted cave on the government shutdown. The Gang of 8 Senate Dems had his approval & he was getting daily updates.
In Thursday's caucus meeting, the Gang claimed they had 10 votes to cave. The caucus went nuts, leading to the new proposal.
