We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

In another era, a group of Republican Senators like Tillis, Cassidy, Collins and Murkowski would join with a handful of Democrats to iron out a deal to extend ACA subsidies and end the shutdown. But in a Trumpified GOP, there is little incentive to do that.

So ICE went into an apartment building in Chicago, busted the doors down, & brought everyone downstairs zip tied (some pulled out of their apt naked), & put them on the street while they ran them through a database.

A bus of Bronx middle schoolers pulled up to the Capitol this morning for a long-planned field trip just a few hours after the government shut down.
All Capitol tours were cancelled as the guides can’t work in shutdown.
So I escorted them in myself and gave them a personal tour. They were great!
