We are just in the sheathe, the region between the leading shock and main body, of this coronal mass ejection (CME). On top of that, the shock from the 2nd CME is very possibly passing through the 1st one. We may see a turbulent magnetic field for some time before a clear structure appears.

Science is intrinsically a part of the humanities - I am pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) after all - and genAI is the absolute antithesis of humanity.

I’m horrified by Trump’s order to send 300 National Guard troops to Chicago. We’re only nine months into a four year term and already the president is trying to invade an American city. If you’re in the Guard, you can and should refuse these orders.
