Likewise, as Immigration and Customs has never worked since since the merger between these two departments, when HMRC got rid of it's responsibility for Customs control at the border.
That department hasn't worked since the Revenue took over Customs & Excise (merger of equals my arse).

Like the Murphey's I'm not bitter.

I’m so upset with our govt. A 3 line whip (😮) to stop a brick being put into new buildings. Please don’t let the swifts die
Swifts have declined 70% since 1994.

They fly from Africa to breed here, only to find we've blocked their nest sites.

A £35 swift brick nest box was proposed for all new buildings.

The construction industry lobbied Labour to block it.

Biodiversity sustains life. Labour sustains economic power.

Yep, sometimes going direct does save you money. We were looking to book a holiday let next year, through booking.com. However my wife went into a holiday letting company in the town we were staying, and found the same property on their books. Same property was a couple of hundred cheaper

You can bet the NIMBYs will say not in my parish, but then the government will just go ahead and build them, then they'll wish they hadn't opposed the solar farm development.
I take it these modular nuclear reactors will be situated in the Cotswolds, Home counties or London?

In better news, it's raining really hard. So that might keep some of the "Concerned Parents" and patriots at home

Sure, but everyone around him is certifiable too, so who would step forward to get him out of the Whitehouse
Surely, this fucker is certifiable.....

There's always exclusions to pet insurance too, teeth aren't covered for instance. My own cheap Beneden HC doesn't cover a lot of things too, hip or knee replacement, but they are cheaper than Nuffield Health if you get them to do the hip or knee surgery, it's just not covered on the policy.
And then when people say "I've got insurance for my pet", I'll be happy to show them the insurance bills I had for my pet, and the excess I had to pay every month. If I'd had less money, I'd have had to have her put down.

My mate had one, I don't know what happened to it, it's probably a pile of dust now.
I always fancied the MTB.

Let's hope so, otherwise they'll be container loads of bicycles and bicycle parts being shipped out for scrap.London will be gridlocked when everyone gives up cycling and all that infrastructure will be removed. Obesity rates will rise, pollution will too, kids will have to be ferried everywhere
How to kill cycling in one swift move. I assume it'll be stopped fairly quickly.

Here's "The Game with the Names" - a home-made 🎶 parody of the legendary #ABBA song ("The Name of the Game"), but offering a satirical twist on the #Trump & #Epstein files story (so far) with a dose of disco lights and half-hearted hand gestures ... 🕺

Bless this cycling fan.

Also, great handle! IYKYK
Time to get a VPN + Firestick. There are other streaming devices too. I took out a 27 month VPN for £58, and started watching the Giro through Australian SBS, The commentary was good and informative. As breaks were the same as ITV4. Added bonus YouTube videos are ad free using an Albanian server

Or encouraging walking, cycling etc. Lots of kids don't walk or cycle to school, and sports are deminishing. But if it's a weight loss jab, then just go online and get your fix.
Instead of actually doing anything about unhealthy food.

I've been ill all week, after getting the flu or more likely COVID, as the symptoms were there. I'd been amongst loads of people at a show the previous week, and I'd also travelled by train. Today is the first day I'd felt better.
Yes!

How was your week?

I'm wiped out and really need my day away from the computer tomorrow!

If they don't, they're daft. If I were a union rep, I'd be going round signing up new members
I would imagine those workers with now reform councils signed up for a union over the past 24 hours ?

And that is the nub of the SUV problem, it's a lifestyle choice, a fashion statement etc
Every SUV owner will tell you that their choice of car is essential for their lifestyle. They are incredibly cleverly marketed; unfortunately.

That'd be war on motorists, and we can't have that, can we.
How police forces don’t understand the endemic nature of phone use behind the wheel is beyond me.

Every force should commit to operating unmarked bike patrols on their patch. And those that don’t should prosecute where applicable and without fail all the video submissions they receive from public.
