I realise I'm just a freak, but living in a multicultural city is the best thing of all time, it's just the best possible human experience and i can not understand why anyone on earth would be like "weve got to destroy this"

On my way to Arisia! I’ll be hanging in the lobby to chat starting at 2 if anyone wants to say hi & wandering ‘round after that.

It would be easier to deal with giant spiders in a way, because you can point at ‘em, but the underlying obstacles remain and (some of) the forces pushing for climate change are at least as identifiable as a giant spider
I am greatly enjoying Dead Hand Rule by @maxgladstone.bsky.social , which dares to ask "what if climate change was spiders"

Another thing you should know about the Twin Cities, if you're not here, is that while the mayor and governor tell us to stay calm on TV, our council members and other local electeds are on the street patrolling and protecting neighbors, doing mutual aid, and otherwise serving the community.

Senate Democrats absolutely have to shut the govt down to stop this ICE insanity in the Twin Cities. This is not sustainable & cannot be normalized. Any Democratic vote to provide money to the thugs who are brutalizing this community is a grave betrayal to the people here. Accountability can't wait.

What? The AI companies have misrepresented what they're doing and how it was done? That's unpossible!
GenAI companies keep claiming the books and copyrighted works their programed were "trained" on without permission didn't retain complete copies in their systems. This was a lie.

These companies may now face for even more liability for violating copyrights. 1/

It’s easy to think that schools in Minneapolis are closed because the Feds murdered someone in the street but no, the actual reason is that while that was happening, the Feds were busy doing other heinous shit across the city like tear-gassing a school
