Don’t forget that *Trump’s own lawyer’s argument* to the Supreme Court in the immunity case was that the check on the President using his immunity to order criminal acts was that those under him would not follow illegal orders. Now it’s a crime for lawmakers to remind servicemembers of that?
The President doesn't want you standing up and speaking out against him, so he's coming after me to intimidate all of us.

But I won't back down — and neither should you.

Reuters reached out to everyone that Trump or his subordinates singled out publicly for retribution, and reviewed hundreds of official orders, directives and public records. The result: the most comprehensive accounting yet of his campaign of payback.

This is the part I dislike most about writing. I'm dyslexic; I see what I think is there, not what is actually there. If you're reading my work, the page isn't always reliable. I need you to see what's written in my head, but if you actually saw what that place looks like, you'd be terrified.
Over the next week (what thanksgiving break? lol) I have to read my book again and finalize it before it goes to *print* and I’m literally paying attention to details like colon vs comma and I’m sure most authors are like this and that’s one reason why you should buy our books. We really care.

By the precedent set by American media, Kamala Harris now has grounds for a $1 trillion lawsuit against the BBC.
NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

And at some point, the bubble will burst, and we'll have to bail out all the billionaires.

Not the people who lost their jobs so the bubble could be created. Not the people who work hard for a living and actually pay their taxes.

This checks out.
I have long had an obscure, complex theory about Susan Collins that explains these things.

Susan Collins is terrible and anyone who ever suggested she is a moderate is a liar or a rube.

That's it. That's the whole thing.
In case anyone is wondering what kind of campaign Collins intends to run next year, now we know. No achievements, only hate:

I wonder if this would work in other situations. Let's encourage our fellow Americans to honor our country by...

- not shooting their neighbors
- not cramming their religion down their neighbors' throats
- paying their fair share of taxes, even if they're billionaires

No, I don't see that working.

I am always suspicious of people who want to discuss slaughtering Jews another time. I could be wrong, but my personal experience is that they're not actually concerned with protecting Jews from antisemites.

I've been reading Eli Sharabi's account of his time as a hostage in Gaza, from October 7 until after his release, and I just got to the part where he talks about his surprise at his captors' giddiness at the prospect of Trump winning the election.

I'm not surprised that Hamas was rooting for Trump.

No one who has ever been threatened by a Nazi on Facebook and reported it, only to be told that the vile, explicit, hate-filled, violent threat did not violate "community standards" (even though it clearly violated the language the moderators point to) will be surprised by this.

IANAL, but I think when the prosecutor keeps flip-flopping on the supposed facts of the case, you have guaranteed reasonable doubt.
This is nuts.

Yesterday in the Comey hearing, prosecutors *repeatedly* confirmed that the full grand jury never saw or voted on the two-count indictment.

Now they’re claiming the grand jury *did* vote on it.

And now they just straight up acknowledge that they talk to platforms too.

If you've spent any time in Wisconsin, you already know: "Historically Obtuse and Morally Disoriented" would be a great title for a biography of Glenn Grothman.
In a House Judiciary subcommittee just now, Rep. Glenn Grothmann (R-Wisc.) took a witness to task for characterizing the 3/5ths compromise as racist, arguing it was a righteous political power struggle.

Jamie Raskin, in response, called that analysis "historically obtuse and morally disoriented"
