There has never been a time when SNAP was withheld nationwide, but this shutdown will break the streak. The public has proof of genocide, pedo rings, foreign collusion, gaslighting, surveillance, urban occupation, police brutality, human trafficking, family separation, etc...and now mass starvation.
Reminder: The only 2 nations that voted AGAINST recognizing food as a human right is the United States and Israel.

100 miles from the border is clearly NOT a "reasonable distance." It is an UNREASONABLE distance.

If CBP is to continue to exist, then the "reasonable distance" from borders in which they are allowed special rights needs to be limited to an actually reasonable distance of FAR less than 100 miles.

If you pass Humanity's Earth,
Land, buy some local delicacies:
Chocolate, coffee, tea, liquorice.
There are more; ask a Human.

Keep them, until you need
To befriend a Human
Wandering the galaxy
Far from home.

The rumours about Humans are true,
For good or ill

A gift can be invaluable

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.
That’s the Farmer Truth.

And one bad year (or a cruel, idiotic asshole in the WH) can break more farmers than we have acres planted.

Millionaires in ‘on the books assets’, maybe some.

But tying in every cent you have from the futures in your last crop + govt subsidies into infrastructure maintenence so your next one breaks even enough to do it all again?

Walmart employees? On SNAP. Junior US military personnel with families? On SNAP. Wherever workers are being underpaid, they are on SNAP.
Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
ACAB.

Yes, even that one you know who is ‘nice’.

… A Maid Lusty For Aragonians?
It should be *illegal* to pay an employee less than the median rent for a one bedroom apartment in a 50 mile radius of the work location or corporate headquarters, whichever is higher.

There is *nowhere* in the US where the federal minimum wage is livable for a solo adult, much less a family.

Not only is it going to be a hunger crisis, it's going to be a farm crisis. All those gallons of milk bought from dairy farmers, all the produce, all the on sale ground beef and packs of chicken that are paid for by SNAP are subsidies to farmers who don't qualify for commodities subsidies.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."
The growl of WANT my internals gave.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn.
