Another good reason to avoid being on X is that Isaac Chotiner could start asking you questions there at any time

no one is safe!!
Amazing to learn that Isaac Chotiner can apparently just come for you in your replies. Like suddenly realizing you're swimming in open ocean

once we (husband and I) made cranberry sauce (i.e. not out of a can) and I thought my family was going to riot
Soo…

What Thanksgiving dish or side dish did* your parents make that you have since cancelled or do not make now that it’s your turn?

*Assumption is some grandparents/parents have since passed away so no one is asking for it or objecting to its absence

idk why you guys are dunking on Bari Weiss’s thing about Dershowitz, my teens come home every day and ask for the latest news about “The Dersh” (that’s what the kids call him these days)

I liked rogue one until I saw andor and now I think rogue one is actually bad
rogue one is bad folks. i have believed this since i saw it in theaters and no subsequent rewatch has changed my mind. basically a chop job until the final sequence, which is good (for star wars)

There are some nice wooded trails near me I simply do not take my dog to anymore because of all the unleashed dogs - despite the signs saying dogs need to be leashed. We’ve been chased and charged by “friendly” dogs way too many times & people get VERY salty when I remind them it’s a leashed area!
"owners tend to downplay the situation, insisting their pet is friendly or disciplined and deserves a chance to roam."

Owners tend to underestimate the former two properties of their dog, but the latter really pisses me off. It's incredibly entitled.
Unleashed dogs in Boston are a source of frustration for some people, and citations have risen - The Boston Globe
The clashes play out in parks, on baseball fields, and Facebook pages — often pitting neighbor against neighbor.

I'm having wicked dreams of leaving Tennessee
Hear Santa Monica, I swear it's calling me
Won't make my mama proud, it's gonna cause a scene
She sees her baby girl, I know she's gonna scream

My mom saw an ad in the actual newspaper that the paper itself was looking for an editorial assistant and she suggested I apply. And now I here I am, making videos for a device and platforms that didn’t even exist when I started in journalism
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

I have been working in some capacity as a journalist for about the last 20 years and I don't know if any other journalists feel this way but this past year has been the most insane news cycle I've ever experienced outside of covid/2020 election. I'm exhausted.

I was in Derry, Northern Ireland, and my professor at the time got us into some really serious and historical hearings about Bloody Sunday. I, however, was like third-most hungover I'd ever been so I spent most of my time in the bathroom, completely losing my guts
what's the most exotic place you've ever puked? mine's not exactly exotic but i did once have a hangover at the nyc facebook office and barfed in their very nice bathroom
Got food poisoning from Fogo De Chao. Puked out the side of a moving cab along beautiful Copacabana Beach. The most exotic place I'll probably ever puke!

Moral rot in elite journalism is killing the whole field
The Nuzzi/RFK Jr. mess and the revelation of Epstein’s journo pals lay bare a profound moral absence at the heart of our free press.
