CHATGPT: I understand where you're coming from. You worked really hard to get here, and now it's time to enjoy the fruit of your labors.

I need more “late bloomer” stories! Tell me about the things that you did at 50+ that you never thought you’d do or finally got to do!

And if you have examples that aren’t you, bring ‘em!

I’m over 50, and my first TV show came out on Friday. My first book, a novella, will come out next year. I’m a late bloomer.

This is so sad because kids actually have low standards, by which I mean, they just want to do fun stuff with the adults in their lives. A kid doesn’t care you can only draw stick figures or that your bedtime stories are retelling. They want to create ANY art with you and spend time with you!

Some parents are letting their kids talk to ChatGPT in the guise of characters. Some are using it to tell bedtime stories or create coloring books.

"My son thinks ChatGPT is the coolest train loving person in the world. The bar is set so high now I am never going to be able to compete with that.”
‘My son genuinely believed it was real’: Parents are letting little kids play with AI. Are they wrong?
Some believe AI can spark their child’s imagination through personalized stories and generative images. Scientists are wary of its affect on creativity

An 11-year-old saw me type “lol” in a text message.

“OMG WHAT are you.. *searches for oldest people she can imagine*… a MILLENNIAL?!”

it hurt on many levels.

I love how you centered the birth moms in this — a group we rarely, if ever, hear from. ❤️

If you want to understand open adoption, it makes sense to start with birth parents—yet studies of them are few. 2+ yrs ago, I began talking w/ birth mothers to try to understand what living in an open adoption is like for them, and what rights or options they might have if challenges were to arise.
When Adoption Promises Are Broken
Many birth mothers hope to maintain contact with their child. But their agreements with adoptive parents can be fragile.

what's the stupidest/randomest Simpsons quote that lives in your head rent free? Mine is the urge to say "you said go to bread" every time I am about to head to bed.

Great interview with @miasato.bsky.social:

"As journalists we’re ceding ground to content creators who don’t know left from right, who didn’t report the stories, who don’t have the expertise to explain ... And so part of me being on TikTok is honestly being the representative for my own work"

Nope. We're done. We are going to back to a text only internet. Y'all had images and sounds and fucked it up too bad. We're going gopher mode. We're getting gemini pilled. You're going to learn to use telnet and like it. You have one movie, it's pretty good.

Tears on Stage: Bob Dylan Pauses Mid-Song After Learning of Charlie Kirk's Passing
It was meant to be just another night on tour — a full arena, the crowd hanging on every lyric — until Bob Dylan suddenly stopped mid-song.
He stepped back from the mic, his eyes shining under the stage lights. The band went completely silent.
"They just told me.." Dylan's voice trembled. "Charlie
Kirk has passed."
For a long, heavy moment, no one moved. Then Dylan whispered, "This one's for him," and began playing a raw, stripped-down version of Blowin' in the Wind.
Fans were overcome with emotion as the song became a quiet prayer.
What Dylan said after the final chord - his last words to the audience - left the world in stunned silence.

Seventeen years had passed by the time Boston police knocked on Louise’s door to say they had a DNA match for her alleged rapist. But under Massachusetts’ 15-year deadline for prosecuting rape, that evidence didn’t matter.
After 17 years, DNA tied a man to her rape. Under Massachusetts law, it was too late
Massachusetts has one of the shortest deadlines in the country for prosecuting rape, even when DNA could help prove the case.
