This is precisely back to front. What will happen if Polanski doesn't "pivot" is the political media class will embark on a campaign of flailing about wailing in panto terror in news studios & in op ed columns at the dire threat of the red menace until rolling hysteria is reached in the news cycle
I agree that the Greens are going to have to drop their anti-NATO positioning if they want to grow their support base. The problem Polanski will face is the former Corbynites that now make up the backbone of his party’s membership will kick up all manner of fuss if he tries to pivot on this.

We've tried that. I personally email my MP all the time on issues surrounding this government, in particular its policies on the disabled, trans people (which didn't go anywhere as she's a massive TERF), WASPI women, Gaza, etc. All of which I have received very underwhelming responses from her.

Well I'm disabled and my mum is disabled too, but a hell of a lot worse than me. I can tell you that we're worried. We've been on edge ever since the changes were announced. We've had no reassurance from our Labour MP and she happily voted for all of these cuts.
