Who is the funniest person who could show up in the Epstein files? I have thought Naomi Wolf, but Alex Jones would also be hilarious

Today she told me she hated Russell Howard.
My therapist told me that her husband "dragged her" to see Stewart Lee last week and the implied disdain for stand up comedy was very relatable.

so all of the richest and most evil people in the world were pouring unlimited money into intentionally destroying modern society so we would have to go back to tribalism and legalize child brides or whatever, and then it didn't even work because most people genuinely like being nice

Trying to claim that G*merg*te had turned into a very successful, globally destabilising political movement made me feel like a crazy person but it was fucking true.
Pretty jaw-dropping essay tying Epstein to pretty much every bad thing over the last 15 years.

Probably not all Epstein's fault, but it's clear that there is a small group of weirdoes on a project to reshape society according to their desires.
Here's how Epstein broke the internet
His meeting with the founder of 4chan and his quest to profit off the end of democracy

Every day Mamdani comes out and is like "hey guys, I turned off the orphan-crushing machine. Literally just had to flip a switch. Took less than 5 minutes."

After decades of dem leadership pissing and moaning and fundraising about how complex an issue it is and how difficult the process is etc

This is both about how good she is AND about how bad everyone else is. It can be both things.
Trying to watch stand up to remind myself what it looks like (long story) and in the first two minutes of her most recent special Maria Bamford had already made me laugh more than all the other comedians I've watched this week combined.

I did a radio show with Sue back in about 1991 on a shortlived student radio station in Manchester, so it's sad to see this.
There's a GFM set up for her funeral expenses here:

Both these companies get a lot of shit from collectors, not always unjustifiably, but the fact that Shout negotiated a deal to release these at all is a miracle and I'm happy they've allowed Arrow to do a decent job on it.
Hard Boiled

Shout [Left] Arrow [Right](From their 4K trailer)

Arrow actually did it. Told ya to wait. Plus @priscillapage.bsky.social has an essay in this and The Killer.

I didn't think being a fan of Bay was ever going to pay off for me but here we are.
In light of recent developments and, as a proud Baytriot, I feel compelled to tap the sign again. Cinema needs more people like Michael Bay, and fewer people like Darren Aronofsky.

I have a list on letterboxd of all the movies I've put a like on and it was only after I'd put it together that I realised Catherine O'Hara was in more of them than anybody.

It’s not surprising that Aronofsky would make an AI history channel show since his last movie felt like it was written and directed by a guy who keeps dozing off while also half reading a Medium article on how to write a streaming tv show.

I saw the trailer for this (against my will) and it obviously looks like absolute shit but literally every comment I read under it was "slop, no thank you" so that's kind of heartening.
Darren Aranofsky's new project is AI slop, but what do you expect him to do? Satoshi Kon tragically passed away in 2010, so Aranofsky has long been lacking in an actual artist to steal from
