I remember seeing Mike Sardina get into his van with the “Lightning and Thunder” logo on the side in a parking lot on Brady street in Milwaukee in the mid 90’s and thinking “huh, interesting concept.”

Almost a year into this presidency, Trump voters have gotten nothing except the Big Beautiful Bill, which was usual Republican politics of giving tax cuts to the rich and slashing social spending for the poor. Housing remains unaffordable, cost of living is rising, and manufacturing jobs fell.

The problem isn't that we can't talk to each other

The marketplace has heard the ideas

Large supermajorities reject them

Yet our anti-democratic political institutions allow the 20-25% that like those ideas to capture & control all the institutions

The problem is the anti-democratic institutions
CNN has a show with a similar line. That the problem with this country is we just aren’t talking to each other.

It’s the kind of diagnosis that a toddler would land on.

ICE’s acting director ordered a Boston Catholic parish to tear down its Advent Nativity scene—stripped of baby Jesus and branded with the message “ICE WAS HERE.” The parish priest is refusing, citing he pope’s call to stand with migrants. It's another chapter in Kristi Noem's war on Christians.
“ICE Was Here”: Pope Leo-Inspired Nativity Scene Sparks MAGA Outrage
A Nativity scene missing Jesus — and marked with an “ICE was here” sign — has triggered cries of “politicizing Christmas.” The parish priest says he’s answering Pope Leo's call to welcome stranger.

The U.S. couldn’t be bothered to abide by its own Constitution. They defied Article VI from the beginning.
historically speaking this not correct, but the issue there may hinge on whether or not and to what extent this enterprise we call a country has ever been either sustainable or a democracy
Loving war crimes is not a sustainable policy in a democracy

Love these background features. Quality baseball organizations are made of quality people.
You may be well-versed in the pitcher side of The Miz, he of 104 mph fastballs and gleeful fist pumps.

But to better understand Jacob Misiorowski — the person — is to see, to feel the love he has for Tom Misiorowski.

Quite similar styling.
I discovered these photos today. And discovered they were friends, Trump and Liberace, mid-1980s Trump Tower co-tenants and shopping buddies. I had no idea.

But I have said many times over the years that Trump's whole Vegas/Pam Beach swank kitsch aesthetic resembles Liberace's.
