He's a Sox fan, so I hope he's rooting for the Brewers tonight.

An amazing year is going to come down to something stupid tonight. What a world.

The Brewers were the best team in MLB over the whole season, and now the whole year comes down to something stupid that is bound to happen tonight. Fuck me.

The hostile media effect tells us that strong partisans always believe the news is biased against their side.

Missed this but according to a recent Hebrew University poll, half of all Israeli Jews think Fox News is biased in favor of Palestinians

I'm pretty plugged in and had to Google "Jay Jones texts."

Of course, I live 1,000 miles from Virginia and don't watch much cable news.

My basic read on the politics here.

1) The Kirk assassination kicked off a "Dems are violent terrorists" campaign.

2) The Jimmy Kimmel debacle hurt that campaign; didn't have public buy-in for the idea that comedians were inciting violence.

3) The Jay Jones texts rebooted this campaign.

it’s said all the time but I think we should continue to hammer home how insane it is that we got dead-eyed bros trying to sell us robots that will free us from the supposedly cruel burden of “creative careers” instead of the actual cruel burden of “doing menial household chores”

I would like more details about Trump's extensive study of circumcision.

RFK Jr: Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol.

Trump: There's a tremendous amount of of proof or evidence. I would say as a non-doctor, but I've studied this a long time

I'm wondering if an enterprising OLC attorney in 2029 could articulate a legal distinction where pardons with a finding of fact are valid, but preemptive pardons are not. It seems sort of logical to me that you shouldn't be able to pardon someone for something they haven't legally done.

As Trump talks about the Insurrection Act, we discussed the situation in Chicago with our friend @jtischauser.bsky.social. He pointed us to @unraveledpress.com, @thetriibe.com, and @blockclubchi.bsky.social as independent outlets doing excellent work on the ground.

My friend @jtischauser.bsky.social took a rubber bullet to the dome 10 days ago outside the Broadview ICE facility. He joined me, @briankarem.bsky.social and Mark Mederson to talk about life in Chicago now and what the media is doing right and wrong in its coverage of the federal escalation there.

How antifa "members" did Trump pardon then?
atrupar.com
Q: There's compelling proof that antifa did infiltrate on January 6 dressed up like Trump supporters and incited violence. Is that something you'd like the new J6 committee to look at?

TRUMP: Well I've heard that. Yeah. We will be acting on some of that.

I have never lived in a city with one of these spring football teams, but I am always curious about the work that goes into fanbase cultivation. These leagues are meant as TV shows not local institutions, but we learned during COVID how much engaged fans are part of the show.

I actually went to an Ohio Glory game in 1992 -- they were in the old World League of American Football -- and it was one of the saddest crowd/vibe experiences I've ever had at a sporting event. But I'm something of a sicko for that kind of thing, so I'd definitely go to one of these games.

251 years ago today: Britain passes the “Quebec Act,” which cedes control of the future state of Wisconsin (as well as much of the Midwest) to Canada.

This act infuriated American colonists and fueled the anger that would build into the American revolution 6 months later.
