"Unitary executive" is really "24 year olds in the West Wing tell everyone in the federal government with experience and knowledge what to do at their jobs."
thinking more about this: it is highly ironic that at the same time that it serves as a test case for the "unitary executive," this administration is all but being led by two subordinate officials with no immediate political accountability.

The “color revolutions” were non-violent, pro-democracy political movements aimed at ending autocratic regimes in former Soviet bloc nations.

Ex-official explained this in a way that will stick with me forever: Within fire departments, the EMTs are overworked and underpaid and don’t have time to advocate for policy. The fire chiefs, on the other hand, have a lot more time on their hands. So fire response, not medical, dictates policy.

Part of why this stuff keeps getting underreported is that our media class can’t get it through their thick heads that this is not a weightless debate over political ideology, but a declaration of war on over 100 million Americans, which DHS is announcing an intent to eliminate
