Heritage Foundation began in 1973. By the 90s Operation Rescue zealots were bombing abortion clinics. Here is b&w ad from back then. Americans mocked progressives for using the words theocratic fascism decades ago. Called us radicals using extremist language. How's that working out decades later?

"When Lewandowski was told Noem's personal items had been left behind, including a heated blanket, he yelled at Coast Guard staff

The pilot came out of cockpit to see what was happening & Lewandowski insisted plane return to collect Noem's items

When he refused, Lewandowski announced he was fired"
Noem's use of Coast Guard resources strains her relationship with the military branch, sources say
Some early decisions by the homeland security secretary, including to divert Coast Guard resources from a search and rescue mission to the deportation of immigrants, set the tone early.

That makes Virginia potentially decisive in the Trump-launched mid-decade redistricting wars. If the referendum passes, Democrats could essentially draw even or even potentially come out ahead. If it fails, Republicans will likely have a small advantage.

Remember how in 2015 I told you it was not Clinton vs trump, it was also about control of SCOTUS, well here I go again...the Senate majority controls whether a nominee even gets a vote. The mid-terms are also about whether or not trump could put another ultra conservative in SCOTUS. #Vote

Jesus Christ these people are monsters.
How is it possible that Kristi Noem still has this job. Imagine if you’re a family member or a shipmate of this guardsman.

Why GOP loves the SAVE Act:

“Women are smart. They should be able to provide 9 forms of ID to prove the discrepancies b/w their maiden and married names, argue their case with a poll worker, before having to fill out a provisional ballot which we can later contest and reject as a fraudulent vote”

The Atlantic continues to cover itself in glory. This guy is treated as an elder statesman for a career that peaked with—drumroll—being one of the earliest and loudest proponents for invading Iraq after 9/11. I suppose it's good he's now a fan of white nationalism, that means it too will fail.

I’m an atheist and disagree. The quality of translations, the historical trajectory of religious beliefs, the impact of theological positions on contemporary politics and society, and better understanding of religious persons (for example), are all of interest outside intra-Christian circles.
Whether or not something is a "faithful and true expression" of a text with wildly differing interpretations over time is a theological question, not a sociological one, and not of interest outside intra-Christian circles.

Bari Weiss built her career in part by whining about how the left was supposedly censoring conservatives. “The Free Press” - the unironic title of her publication - ran numerous pieces about a “censorship-industrial complex.”

Now, under her watch, we get to see real censorship - and hypocrisy.
