I have opinions on things, especially DC theatre, especially ones that got a major critic to block me on that other hellsite. They are mine, but you can borrow them.

The politics ones are extremely mine, especially the ones with my name on them.

administrative and institutional democracy is a complex process. the dream of the unitary executive theorists/presidentialism-pilled media, punditry, and political class is that politics is just One Event rather than an ongoing and roiling series of actions, measures, and countermeasures
the unitarian notion of accountability is, in general, very strange as it holds that a single election — the president’s reelect — is more democratically accountable than the rolling process of democratic assent produced by legislative elections and congressional oversight.

Something every 2026/28 Dem should commit to is investigations of any company that did deals with Trump. A kind of forward guidance to get companies to think twice in advance of what’s coming.
Fox News will applaud this but can you imagine their coverage if President Biden hatched a secret plan to take over Fox News and revamp its programming to be nicer to him
New WSJ reporting: "During a December visit to Washington, David Ellison offered assurances to Trump administration officials that if he bought Warner, he'd make sweeping changes to CNN, a common target of President Trump's ire, people familiar with the matter said..."

Seeing a leader of the United States adopt this line is revolting. While the US remains imperfect, it is also the global leader in FDI as well as the world’s leading destination for inbound investment. China would love to have an economy like America’s.

They’re clearly plugging this dude into an IV regularly and, if this were Biden, there would be demands for weekly hour long press conferences from his doctors on his health. But that’s not how authoritarianism works so stop asking questions already.

RFK Jr wants these children dead and is fine with it being a terrible way to go because he is a bad person and is honest about what he considered fit to live.

Cassidy is a coward willing to see happen what he knows happens, which makes him a bad person who is dishonest about it.

Both should pay.

i think to understand the meaning of the birthright citizenship clause to the framers of the 14th amendment, you have to understand significance of dred scott to the civil war republican party. dred scott wasn't just a bad ruling, it was understood as a rejection of the declaration itself.

The more I think about this, the more I think they like the Fox Hunt model. Corruption is fine for everyone, until they don't like for some reason (maybe personal, maybe professional, maybe actual dissent), and then they have a mechanism to hunt you down and destroy you.
This is, straightforwardly, the threat of disparate treatment to stifle dissent. The DOJ's Deputy Attorney General is telling lawyers critical of administration policies that their clients will be singled out for harsher treatment.
