This is not a good plan! I was given a pay rise that put me £1 a year over the threshold (£15k at the time) which meant I was worse off after my pay rise.

The whole premise behind the student loan threshold, and the loans and university attendance, was that it would be worth it because earnings would be high / above average- if they’re minimum wage then what’s the financial point of uni?

So the actual bar being discussed for juryless trials seems to be anything where the sentence is less than 5 years.
Anything less than 5 years would not require a jury and could be decided by a judge in a closed room.

Labour are putting in place all of the tools and eliminating fundamental protections that will enable Reform to come in 2029 and govern in an overtly fascist and totalitarian way. No jury trials, digital ID, elimination of the ECHR etc. It feels intentional.
