Even if this was true - it isn’t, this is unbelievably worse and indefensible than e.g. the Iraq War - you are talking about World War II level crimes against humanity here. A significant chunk of the public believes you should be sent to prison for decades, and they are correct.

On the one hand you have a political party that believes in the rule of law. On the other hand, you have a political party which is lawless & authoritarian. The journalist who presents these as being of equal democratic legitimacy is dragging society half way into lawlessness. This isn't neutrality.

A reminder.

Humanity has never removed an atmospheric pollutant at a global, continental or, even, regional scale — we have only ever shut down the source and let nature do the clearing up. This is the case for chlorofluorocarbons and stratospheric ozone destruction, for sulfur dioxide and acid rain, and for sulfur and nitrogen oxides and photochemical smog. We must be prepared for CDR to be a failure, leaving us to rely on the environment to stabilize atmospheric CO₂ over thousands of years. This is another argument for rapid decarbonization.

It really is infuriating that our politics has been mutilated to accommodate these crimes and ensure no negative consequences for the people who facilitated it. If the system won’t punish these people then the public has to instead, at every election for the rest of their lives, if necessary.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
