Britain's political funding laws are a charred and smoking ruin. Ducking change was a catastrophic mistake by Labour.

Ireland's green image is largely a fabrication.

That could be turned around in a decade, with enough political and societal will.

This is a great piece, and not just because it says nice things about BusinessGreen. Mainstream media failure to understand and explain the climate implications of so many political and policy stories is a serious failing - and if anything it is getting worse.

The biggest climate stories often aren't labelled 'climate' - so newsrooms miss them
Last week's Budget provided a perfect example of how the mainstream media has a huge blindspot when it comes to the climate crisis and the policies that are shaping it

“Environmental laws are not just ‘nice-to-haves’. They are what ensures we can live in a clean, healthy and sustainable environment, which is a precondition for our very existence.”

If you’re in the UK and appalled by the government’s Planning and Infrastructure Bill, this will be grimly familiar.
There have been very few opinion pieces published in national papers on this major issue, despite legal and planning experts spelling out exactly why scapegoating Judicial Reviews is dangerous.
