New banner image!

Saw this sticker in Tacoma last weekend, and it's perfect.
A sticker on a bike rack in Tacoma, WA that says:

"THEY WANT YOU TO THINK TRANSGENDER PEOPLE ARE A PROBLEM. INSTEAD, TRY BEING A FUCKING ADULT, AND LIVE AND LET LIVE."

You had me until the tomato and lox, because otherwise that's my answer.

There's dozens of us! Dozens!!
mxlabradorite.bsky.social
I would lose with my preferred "cinnamon raisin with scallion cream cheese," but I'm savvy enough to say "Everything with plain cream cheese, lox, and tomato" on the record.

(Yes, I know I just said it anyway.)

Spanish BlueSky spilled the tea on this lady as soon as the Nobel news dropped.

But she was endorsed by current U.S. regime leader earlier this year, that says it all.

Friends, I am very excited to inform you that once again, the lake is haunted
A skeleton wearing a bandanna and a loin cloth Tied around his pelvis bones??? He is holding a sword and has his foot up proudly on a jack-o’-lantern while standing on a dinghy floating in a lake. Surprisingly this is normal for my area

No, but for real, I'm now imagining a bunch of Jews in Egypt wearing inflatable frog costumes and being unsettlingly cheerful at the Pharoah and his guards.

It's really highlighted how, even though I "got" why they were in the places they are, why exactly DOES the US have military bases in foreign countries?

All over the world, one of the queerest things LGBT organizing and HIV/AIDS care has done in the last few decades has been to give queer and trans people access to dignified employment doing important work WITHOUT a college degree.

This is under attack by the US govt.

In case the actual serious reasons to be disgusted with the NYT aren't enough for you, Wirecutter posted this article and did not reference Sam Vimes ONCE:
Screenshot from NYT Wirecutter headlined "These Boots Have Lasted Me 12 Years. Unfortunately, They're $600" with a graphic of a pair of (presumably quite nice) boots.

This is a much better version of what I was trying to put together, thank you.

It's telling/exception proving the rule that it's mostly only busses in Manhattan that came to my mind, though.

“One of the chants that has become ubiquitous at these protests at Broadview is, ‘Love your neighbor, love your God, save your soul and quit your job,’” said Black, who pastors at the First Presbyterian Church of Chicago. “Everybody chants that.”

We finally have an answer to the age-old question: innumerable small frogs, or one kaiju frog?

A secret, third thing!

Many (but not innumerable!) human-sized frogs!
reverendjesus.com
Blessed are the frogs, for they keep making authoritarians look incredibly stupid
Three persons in inflatable frog costumes. One of them is holding a nicely painted sign with two little cartoon frogs holding hands, below the text "FROGS TOGETHER STRONG"

The damn thing is called a Palantir!! We're back to this, but real life and I hate it.
Garth Marenghi saying, "I know writers who use subtext, and they're all cowards!"

Some More News did a profile on Miller, likening him to Wormtongue feeding lies to Denethor. Tolkien sure called that shot! The Evil Vizier is an old trope, but honestly, what's the difference between magic lies and AI slop disaster videos? Not much daylight there.

It's becoming clear that someone (probably Miller, but maybe not, or maybe not just him) is feeding him endless disaster footage and telling him it's Portland, it's Chicago, and he's reacting to that. They want a Trump who feels like the big strong defender, at any cost.
