Listening to the other X-Raided release of 2001. Really good fun. Only problems are that a) the number of tracks I've heard on other projects is most of the tracklist + b) I'm listening to a pretty low quality rendition of its tracks in audio terms here, which may not have been the case elsewhere...

I could see the argument for doing new edits of Anthology for Disney+ — the doc can be a little longwinded, even in its shorter cut—but there’s no excuse for this.
Jesus Christ, the "remastered" Beatles Anthology documentary they re-released is filled with AI slop. Look at John and Paul's faces, and the "T" on Beatles.

On our allotted daily walk, we found an off-licence that stocked a bunch of local brews. Me and my brother's had a lil listening party for his progress on the album recording for Going South.
What's a charming memory you have from the worst period of the pandemic?

To be completely fair to younger people, I suffer from this myself now. On any given day, I'm given a ton of recommendations and can feel overwhelmed. I see people bragging on here about how much they read and listen to, but I'm not sure how they find the time unless they live very solitary lives.
i've also noticed for years a kind of melancholy that's formed around the hyperabundance of "content." once questions like "what should i listen to? what should i read?" were answered by a numbingly infinite availability of everything ever made, the question shifted to "_why_ should i listen/read?"

Okay, here we go.

Health & care staff are no longer allowed a Covid booster, but they're still expected to look after COVID+ patients.

NHS/govt is reneging on its duty of care. Staff will become unwell, and patients too will suffer.

You know what to do

It is odd to me that, like, you'd think it'd be parody if you said: to be clear, they only like the bad bits of Western Civilisation -- but that turns out to be true. They like the rapacious imperial murder, but not the art or intellectual achievements or civil liberties, etc.
i mean what are these "western values" these guys are so hopped up about? they are directly antagonistic to western europe. they don't believe in civil liberties. they reject democracy. and don't get me started on christianity, they hate their white neighbors almost as much as the brown ones

I'm always interested in how students make something they would be interested in (and in terms of courses actually registered for) something abject. A book one can read for fun and insight becomes a turgid textbook once it's on a course outline, even one w/o "apparatus" (e.g., anthologies).

Decided a noble aim would be to rank Horrorcore and similar albums of the year 2001, starting with people I know already.

Today's is The Initiation by X-Raided, which starts off a little like they didn't have too much to work with vocally from him. Somehow there were two albums from him that year 🤔
