Far too many interviews with artists about how they wrote their songs are just about how they wrote the lyrics. I want to know why you chose that rhythm, that chord, that timbre! At least talk to me about lyrical *structure*.

I always tell people one fact when ADHD and the NHS is mentioned: there is *one* ADHD specialist in all of Greater Manchester. I was able to get appointments with him because I was diagnosed overseas, and I stopped going because he was often up to an hour late.

Listened to Wanderland by Kelis the other day, and it's a mess. You've got a bunch of songs where she's crooning over loud, dissonant beats, as if the song was intended to be a mellow one when the vocals were recorded. Nearly all the songs are about depending on men, which is a challenging listen—

'Art should/n't be political' isn't much of a debate, because anything is political if you look at it that way. What's up for discussion is whether you should allow your less ephemeral art to be annoying, such as with sloganeering tendencies or topical jokes. (Obviously I'd say go for it.)
