Wait, what are you doing here? Who let you in?
Political commentators dribble the Ratcliffe story aimlessly around their own half. Politicians attempt well-intentioned passes but don’t land it in the box. It’s Barney Ronay, in the sport pages, who delivers it magnificently into the back of the net.
This is the best explainer I’ve seen on Ratcliffe’s motives for his racist outburst. We shouldn’t enter into any ‘debate’ on immigration on these terms. It’s a deeply dishonest and dangerous call to arms by cynical people who prioritise profit over everything else

Ratcliffe is, quite obviously, factually, morally & intellectually wrong about immigration. But his racist comments will be 'both-sided' everywhere because people who simply don't like seeing non-white faces aren't ashamed to say so anymore.

I like that people describing the idea of liveable neighbourhoods and 15minute cities as "Orwellian" is correct, but not in the way they think
"We value speed more than human life. While our roads remain as they are, and present speeds are kept up, the slaughter will continue..."

—George Orwell, shown with his newly-adopted son, writing about hypocrisy of pedestrian-shaming "road safety" campaigns...in 1946.

Am torn about this chart - it shows that despite the always defeatists talk, Europe and the EU in particular have stepped up for their security.

However, it also shows that the level of support is still notably smaller, and in consequence Ukraine has suffered.
Quite the chart

He says it's not political. He just wants to make money from far-right anger.

One day the phrase popped into my head, "I have too much respect for myself and my own time" and I think I have engaged a lot less with this sort of content.
I don't think we have to engage properly with Matt Goodwin talking about birth rates, he's just trying to signal that he wants more white people, it's not really anything beyond that.
