Dutifully Voted for the guy who said "There is no case for Rejoining the Single Market", whilst simultaneously convinced that it was the Stupidest thing ever said by a Politician in my lifetime.

former Libdem Voter who is a Rejoiner to Vote Green instead, then good luck to you, because that may well be what will happen.
nickequipechasee.bsky.social
It's not a priority for people, because they're not even being offered it as a choice.

And that, from the Party whose 'Bollocks to Brexit' Campaign in 2019, actually saw them win 1 Million more Votes, is a Shameful omission.

But if you just want every

your cross-party consensus starts, because someone has to make the first move, so it might as well be the libdems.

I think there is a Dam that needs to be broken.

I think that if the LibDems came out with a 'We need to Rejoin' message, - and it gave them a 5% or more uplift in the Polls, then that will embolden people in the other Parties to follow suit.

And that's where

But I think that the far bigger problem that we face at the moment, is everyone in Power's apparent Terror at the thought of taking the first step.

to rejoin, and when there is only the Greens competing with us for the votes of 'rejoiners' ...

And they are going to beat us, at this rate !
nickequipechasee.bsky.social
had an acronym 'KISS', meaning 'Keep it Simple, Stupid', - and yet here is Ed, persistently trying to muddy the brexit waters, and make his ifs, ands, buts and 'maybe's' about rejoining, as complicated and obscure as possible.

- Hence, '17%', - when a far bigger percentage would like us
nickequipechasee.bsky.social
So does he still only want us to have our Freedom of movement back "once the rest of our immigration system is sorted out" ?

Because if that's the case, then as a policy it is almost entirely pointless.

And really, Polls of (even !) 17% reflect that.

The Clinton Presidential Campaign

But it definitely needs a clear-out as its reputation is suffering lasting damage every day ...

With proper sanctions on those who make us leave, if those democratic standards aren't met.

No, we need to decide this with a 'proper' democratic decision, 2/3rds majority, or whatever, - with a big part of any

So everything is orderly, justified and convincing…
nickequipechasee.bsky.social
Perhaps, but I would find it an easier sell if I said ‘Brexit has damaged us massively, so we need to rejoin the SM&CU to once again be the 5th largest economy on the Planet, so that when we then apply to rejoin the EU itself, 10 Years down the line,

Answer; You get your Job back, your Car back, and your Wife back !’

And it’s the same with rejoining, we will get back much of what has been taken from us…
nickequipechasee.bsky.social
I think so, because we’re not in 2016, where we had ‘everything’, and couldn’t imagine that the brexiters would be stupid enough to deprive us of it all, - we have been deprived, and so we would be voting to get much of it back ?!

It’s like the old joke about ‘What happens if

that has not only tangibly benefited from the economic power of the EU, but has also domestically ‘learnt its lesson’.

So we will be far more ‘European’ than we ever were before, because we will finally have learned how important it now is to us.
nickequipechasee.bsky.social
I think that by rejoining the SM&CU first, it opens the taps on our economic recovery, at the same time as buying us time for the remaining ‘leading brexiters’ to ‘shuffle off’, before we apply to rejoin properly.

So when we do apply, we will be a Country

nickequipechasee.bsky.social
Yes, absolutely, and it's not even as though any of the Party Leaders have the Courage to say we should even rejoin SM & CU yet !

For instance, just going the whole hog should be the nearest thing to a 'No Brainer' that Ed Davey ever gets.

There's a reason your
