Last year, a human trafficking victim trapped in a crypto scam compound in the Golden Triangle region of Laos contacted me. He then proceeded to leak to me a huge collection of the compound's internal materials.

Then he had to get out alive. This is his story.

Apple has launched Apple Watch hypertension notifications in <update with country name>.

Seriously the article says "[GEO]" instead of "Brasil".
Notificações de hipertensão já disponíveis no Apple Watch
A partir de hoje, o Apple Watch passa a oferecer o novo recurso de notificações de hipertensão em [GEO].

Today Apple released iOS 26.2.1, 18.7.4, 16.7.13, 15.8.6, 12.5.8 (for some old devices), and iOS/macOS/visionOS/tvOS 26.3 beta 3. It's a total of ONE TERABYTE of .ipsw files. A minute of silence for archivists...

They're going to do a World Cup in a country in the middle of a dictatorship that is kidnapping people and sending them to torture prisons... AGAIN.

When I tap a link in another app, iOS Safari opens a new tab either at the beginning or at the end of the tab list. I have yet to find a pattern for what makes it put the tab at the beginning.

Nobody is taking away the Internet Archive. Wikipedia is basically impossible to kill at this point.

Follow these instructions to disable Copilot in your GitHub repository: docs.gitlab.com/user/project...
The GitHub Copilot SDK is here 🙌

You can take the same Copilot agentic core that powers GitHub Copilot CLI and embed it in any application, with just a few lines of code.

This is an excellent analogy, because my recollection from grade school is that the pen on the right looks fun and exciting, and then you play with it for a few minutes and realize it's not actually useful for anything and in fact makes some tasks more cumbersome, and never think about it again.
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

Months ago it was reported that iOS 27 was internally codenamed Buttercup, and I confirmed it later via a leak. This article says it will be codenamed "Rave".

Did Apple say "ok we need an even stronger focus on AI, we're throwing Buttercup away and starting over"?

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.
