Played the Bubsy4D demo and it's...not bad? I'm not sure I like the "turn into a ball" stuff but Bubsy's movement options otherwise feel pretty good.

I think what's equally amusing is when your friends have characters with normal sounding surnames, so to go from knowing someone as "Bob" only to learn their actual name is "Tom"

She felt like she could have been a fun boss to learn if there wasn't an annoying process to restart the fight. (Re-entering the dream, re-doing the enemy waves)

that's crazy, that seems like so much trouble for even them. Hope you can get something better quick.

It's important to avoid scary, sciencey sounding things like Dihydrogen Monoxide.

Like, the game's world and characters are so bizarre, and throwing me off so much I didn't know what to make of things at many points. So when something kind of "real" happened, it really took a moment to sink in, and it kind of hit a whole bunch harder as a result.

Like, objectively, it shows it's age. It's a pretty simple, almost barebones RPG maker game, to be a touch harsh. But it goes to show how presentation is a hugely important element. The game's weirdness is fascinating to me, because it's almost...disarming? (...)

Thinking about OFF (the game) again - it's interesting playing it with the understanding that it's this special game to many, and a point of inspiration for Undertale, well after I've experience UT and DR, and probably a number of other things that took from OFF or multiple steps removed. (...)

How y'all look saying "Hydrossity'
its a picture of megamind looking kind of smug. the joke is that he says "metro city" as a single word in a similar fashion to how some people (incorrectly) pronounce "Hydrocity" as rhyming with "velocity"

I love being my funny guy in VR. Figuring out customizing avatars has been a very fun hole to fall down.

Like what, sort out hosting and everything that entails? Maybe throwing stuff up on a github is good enough? But that's still something that's probably a decent hassle for a lot people to learn as opposed to just slapping a file in a discord channel.

I feel very divided on the whole "thing only exists on a discord" problem. (Projects and resources.) As a user, it's pretty frustrating, and it's not good from a preservation perspective. But like, as someone who aspires to make things, it seems fucking exhausting having to sort that all out.

Is post hyperfixation depression a thing? Sometimes I feel like I'll obsess over a new game, or finish a creative project, and afterwards it feels like a struggle to latch onto something new.

Like, wouldn't that suck for new viewer retention? I'd probably write off a streamer if I tuned in and they were just afk lol.
nightfire.bsky.social
That'd still seem lame / the same from a running out the clock perspective, but it'd at least save people from tuning in while you're not even around / leave people guessing when you're actually doing stuff.
