While we have more research about anti-LGB conversion therapy, we do have research on attempts to force trans people to accept their gender assigned at birth. They were more than twice as likely to attempt suicide. The same harm is evident: www.science.org/content/arti...

Badenoch: "While Britain was redefining what a woman is, China built five nuclear reactors."

A perfect summary of conservative idiocy. Glorifying authoritarian post-communism for its efficiency while vilifying democracy for seeking nuance and respect.

It is the Right who hate their own countries.

One very very lonely Tory voice on the letters page of The Times.
Sorry, Robert. It’s too late. Your party has gone completely nuts. Driven mad by 14 years of failure, Farage and your monumentally stupid Brexit.
You can ask them to put the petrol can down but they’re mesmerised by the fire.
Leaving the ECHR could split Union Sir, In his article "Leaving the ECHR won't fix illegal migration" (Oct 6; letters, Oct 7), David Gauke makes the point that the Conservatives' decision to support complete withdrawal from the European convention of human rights is, at best, wholly unnecessary and at worst will make international co-operation on migration control and deportation much more difficult.
He is right to do so. It is time for Tories to stop heading for the exit every time there is perceived tension caused by so-called foreign institutions that my party actually helped to create in the first place.
To claim that ECHR withdrawal will not affect the Northern Ireland Good Friday agreement is naive. Not only will it risk undermining trust in policing and criminal justice cross-border co-operation, it will trigger a breach of article 2 of the Windsor framework and a climate of instability that can only assist advocates of a border poll that could lead to the break-up of the Union. For the Conservative Party to advocate such a move is a betrayal of Conservative principles.

I need people to stop referring to conversion "therapy" as something that's been discredited or doesn't work. That's like saying torture is "discredited" or doesn't work. That they don't work for their stated purpose is secondary to the fact that they DO work for their REAL purpose:

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.

As a person who twice barely avoided getting kidnapped and sent to conversion therapy by my own family members it is very disheartening to hear that conversion therapy is still being discussed. Last i checked the only thing it converts is living kids to dead ones.

These Supreme Court oral arguments on conversion therapy are going to be painful. No matter what is said, know that trying to force someone to be what they're not is psychological torture with measurable negative consequences, and anyone trying to defend such efforts is a bigoted monster.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

It seems clear—I think to everyone, now—that a false and illegal invocation of the Insurrection Act is coming before the end of the year. Media outlets should be telling us how they will prepare for this potential Treason. State governments should be telling us. Activists should be developing plans.

Not trans, not a drag queen.

But a MAGA fascist cis man.
esqueer.net
A MAGA teenager was spurned by a teen girl so he sent pizza to her home to intimidate her. The police ignored it.

Then, he saw she mocked Charlie Kirk so he murdered her and her friend by ramming his truck into them at 70mph while they were riding their bikes.

He's now charged with murder.

By "trans activists hijack" The Telegraph mean "trans people are involved"
Trans activists ‘hijack’ group researching NHS gender issues
The Daily Telegraph6 Oct 2025By Michael Searles DEPUTY HEALTH EDITOR
TRANS activists have taken over a research group set to underpin the future of NHS care for gender-questioning children, critics have claimed.

The taxpayer-funded project was set up to address the “weak evidence” around treating children who question their gender in response to the Cass review.

But the project has now been accused of “bias” by openly promoting puberty blockers and sex-change surgery.

The James Lind Alliance (JLA) also labels gender dysphoria – a medical condition – as “gender diversity”, and collects data on gender identity instead of biological sex.

It was commissioned by the NHS in the wake of Baroness Cass’s review into gender-questioning children’s care to understand “what future research evidence will help secure the best outcomes for children, adolescents and young adults”.

Anyone remember Reform promising to go into their new councils with DOGE-style units to slash “waste” and stop taxes from rising? Yeah, it went exactly as you’d expect if you put people in charge who have no idea how anything works.
Reform poised to raise Kent council tax as Musk-inspired attack on costs falters
ANNA GROSS - KENT
Kent's local authority will probably raise council tax rates next year as Reform UK strugglesto find big savings under an Elon Musk-inspired cost-cutting drive.
Kent was one of 10 councils that Nigel Farage's rightwing populist party seized in a swath of local election victories in May. He vowed to save "a lot of money" by abolishing "wasteful" spending.
But Diane Morton, Reform's cabinet member for adult social care on Kent county council, told the Financial Times that services were already "down to the bare bones".
"We've got more demand than ever before and it's growing." she said, stressing she did not believe access to those services should be limited. "We just want more money." As with many local

Let’s be clear: the government is failing to fend off hate campaigns by Britain’s utterly poisonous right wing press, so it is urging the public and journos to instead go after members of the public, for protesting against the annihilation of the Gaza Strip, as a diversion.
