this is true of how fascists work in general imo. i have argued again and again that fascists conceptualize feminism's & trans people's threat to patriarchal hegemony in terms of "pedophilia" because they are projecting their own sexualized view of children as property & power as eroticized
and i think a lot of abusers are this way. "every accusation is a confession" is already a tired saying but it stems from the fact that people who are obsessed with their own power and control also chronically project. they think everyone is like them, everyone plays their power games.
