If these people are ever thrown out of power, I hope we all understand there is no reformist pathway for institutions like this as much as Dems might desperately wish and claim there is.

While I realize that, among the cavalcade of horrors, a government social media account being run by puerile trolls is a lesser one, under any other administration I would expect Congressional hearings about just who this troll is and why they're employed by DHS.
This is real. A government agency calling Americans performing their democratic right of protest “imbecilic morons.” This Trump regime is a poison and never should have gotten power. A total disgrace.

I've got one suspension and one ban, and both stick out in my mind because they were so ridiculous.

The suspension was from an alternate history board. I asked the admin if he was a masochist, because he only was arguing in the real-world political chats and never seemed to read the subject forums.
all I’m gonna say is that I am a life-long slightly edgy poster and I’ve never caught a suspension or a ban anywhere - because it is in fact quite easy to avoid crossing the “this joke could possibly be construed as a violent threat” line on social media

On the one hand: polygraphs are largely pseudoscience and need to be discarded.

On the other, this is just another sign of the rot under Kash Patel.
The FBI has recently used polygraph tests to ask senior employees if they have said anything negative about FBI Director Kash Patel or had spoken to the media.

Separately, Patel granted waivers to Deputy Director Dan Bongino and two other staffers, exempting them from passing polygraph exams.

As the FBI’s deputy director, Bongino receives some of the country’s most sensitive secrets, including the President’s Daily Brief. His ascent to that position without passing a standard bureau backgr...

you could fact check this — there aren’t 30 million illegal immigrants and there is no evidence that the presence of an immigrant in say houston has any impact on housing in madison, wisconsin — or you could note straightforwardly that this is just nazi rhetoric
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Wrote, rewrote, deleted, rewrote, edited, and modified an encounter in the tower my #13thAge PCs are entering starting next session.

Well, assuming the door guardians don't destroy them or put them to flight.

But. Had one bit that I was turning over and over in my brain. Glad I figured it out.

Another carving throwback. This is my 10lb black stone bear, my very favourite sculpture to date.

He took 16+ hours to carve, taught me that black soapstone is crazy tough, and comes with a little removable salmon in the jaws.

He currently lives in my personal collection.

“With great power comes great responsibility” is the core moral of what is fundamentally a famous picture book for children. It is quite naturally far too complex a text for our media betters to comprehend.
“But we are just smol reporters” doesn’t fly at the nation’s largest and most powerful publication.
