Shit is nuts. This week I spoke to a crim. defense attorney from mpls who mostly does federal work. He said a client got arrested with 19 pounds of meth & an indictment was coming. Then the feds had to forgo the indictment because they don’t have the resources. Walking away from 19 pounds of meth!
They are running out of lawyers.
DM me? We used to get hundreds of highly qualified applicants for a single job posting. Good prosecutors are increasingly hesitant to work for this DOJ.

Yes.
I'm kinda curious. Do people ever get really teary eyed when you're writing an especially sad scene? Like describing the death of a loved one?

I do, I also ALWAYS get sad when anything remotely sad happens in a movie or show. Or even in a book...I was curious to know if other people get that way))

Polar bears in Svalbard depend on sea ice to hunt seals. Even as that ice disappears, their physical health remarkably appears to be holding steady. A new study in Scientific Reports shows how these bears might be adapting their hunting methods.

Professional athletes are being advised not to leave the hotel or go anywhere without their passports while visiting Minnesota.

This is not a country that can safely host international events like the World Cup.

Boycotting is not even a political question anymore. It is a basic issue of safety.
The Montreal Canadiens are playing the Minnesota Wild in Minneapolis tonight. The players have been recommended to stay in/eat at the hotel, take the team bus to the arena, and carry passports.

Perhaps we shouldn't be hosting the World Cup and the Olympics...

It reminded me why we are friends—Olivia always makes me think more deeply about media I love.

And now the DOJ just looks dumb and dumber.
DOJ misconduct complaint against DC Chief Judge James Boasberg dismissed because it lacked any substance. Just an effort to intimidate judges who have the audacity to follow the law and rule against Trump. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

I guess I'll bookmark this for the next time my maga relatives tell me the left hates veterans, families, and children
I witnessed ICE using tear gas on children.

They shattered a window of low-income housing where a disabled vet lives. He got gassed in his own home.
This was the kind of treatment the union activists got today from Oregon’s largest unions alongside coalitions like @jwjpdx.bsky.social. They fired projectiles and injured many demonstrators and broke out neighbors windows. Gas for a half dozen miles in each direction. #iceout
