Still blows my mind that Ubisoft spent seven years trying to make a game they'd already made once two decades earlier, restarted production from scratch at least twice, then there up their hands and said "We give up! It can't be done!" Just absolutely incredible.

The Sanctuary Fortress is one of my favorite regions in any Metroid game. It's such an unexpected visual swing in the midst of what the rest of Echoes establishes aesthetically, but isn't completely outside of the realm of the alien culture you've been exploring. Game visuals peaked this gen idgaf
