In late July, Paul Ingrassia, the White House liaison for the Department of Homeland Security, arrived at a Ritz-Carlton in Orlando with a lower-ranking female colleague and others from their department. When the group reached the front desk, the woman learned she didn’t have a hotel room.

Ingrassia then informed her that she would be staying with him, according to five administration officials familiar with the episode. Eventually the woman discovered that Ingrassia had arranged ahead of time to have her hotel room canceled so she would have to stay with him, three of those officials said.

My mother sent me a YouTube video of the president of Finland giving a speech she liked and while I have not watched it, I assume it would piss off Trump, so I honestly wondered if he thinks IKEA is from Finland and that is what is happening.

You're exactly right. This is like Tumblr's "everyone's a little neurospicy." They simultaneously co-opt ADHD as something "cultural" for "everybody" while trivializing the disorder itself, and use it as a point to shift blame outside themselves. "It's mental illness, you see, out of our control."

I know it's a weird thing to get stuck on, but... they're expecting the tenant to foot the bill for registering the trademark and copyright in the landlord's name? Did I read that right?

The tenant pays to register the work they made for the landlord, who then owns the tenant's work in perpetuity.
