You recognize that was Abbot’s decision right, and a majority of the population didn’t vote for him? Abbot and the legislature don’t bring *anything* to a vote to the people the way most states do. It’s in the TX constitution. Abbot is severely mentally ill like Paxton and Ted Cruz

May I ask, do you think once the insurrection act is declared, and SCOTUS affirms it, might it be time for academics in red states to move? My husband and I are both academics in TX and known democratic socialists in our small college town, tenured but that doesn’t seem to matter here anymore
