This may make me uncool, but it genuinely bothers me that the most popular video game children play features stuff like Scooby Doo walking around on two legs shooting what looks too much like a real assault rifle at Spider-Man, who also has a gun to shoot people with.

THIS EXACTLY. I will play nothing but pre-GenAI games. I will dig through my backlog. I will play a dozen different modded builds of Skyrim. I'll replay the classic games I love.
Nothing will make me completely lose interest more than the use of GenAI.
