In case people shrug, because they think cuts to VA don’t directly affect them…
The VA does more than care for veterans. 70% of US doctors train in one. VAs also perform research—creating the pacemaker, Hep C cure, shingles vaccine, just to name a few. Civilians were cared for during the COVID pandemic. Whatever you feel about vets or war, the loss of the VA affects all of us.

It is outrageous but it is not new. This has been the Republicans plan at least since John McCain ran for president.
This is outrageous. It is abundantly clear that Republicans and the Trump administration want to strangle the VA until it all get privatized.

This is a death spiral for the #VA. Those already working there will face #burnout trying to do 3 people's jobs and leave for the hundreds (for #doctors) and thousands (for #nurses) of other jobs out there in their specialties.

I don’t think this will work the way the White House thinks it will but I’m not going to tell them.

Never thought I’d repost something originating from a Trump post, but here I go
He literally tweeted this out.

“SHOULD ORDERS AND THE LAW EVER CONFLICT, OUR OFFICERS MUST OBEY THE LAW.”

This plaque is displayed at West Point. It’s the law. Not sedition.

This was stunning. In a good way. Mamdani is a freaking miracle worker.
Trump and Zohran Mamdani seemed to put aside their differences in a remarkable scene at the White House today, saying they looked forward to working together. At one point, Trump said "we agree on a lot more than I would have thought. I want him to do a great job, and we'll help him do a great job."

NEW: North Carolina Republicans have, yet again, gerrymandered the state’s congressional districts. This time, it comes at the cost of the state’s Black voters. But there remains a path to defeating the measure, and it starts at the state’s highest court.

Apparently NC Republican legislators are so busy taking away Democratic voters rights, they can’t be bothered to govern. Sound familiar?

Indeed. NC has always been one-sided (dominated by wherever Black citizens did NOT congregate) My father switched parties just to be able to have a voice in the primaries, where the candidates went on to win…so I wonder if NC democrats and left leaning independents should do the same?
